Willard Bay State Park and Missoula, Montana

We are in Missoula, Montana today, errands, fill LP, etc. nice downtown and river bike paths. We are at a KOA, serviceable. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I won’t include an image of our camp, but the city and surrounding landscape is beautiful, a place to come back to.

We were in Willard Bay State Park yesterday, a nice park by freshwater bay, lots of birds and trails. Here is an imageย of our camp.

I had to throw in a fun image from our bedroom window at Cedar Breaks!

Cedar Breaks National Monument, Utah

Our next stop was to be an NFS Campground, Te-Ah near Cedar Breaks, but on our way there, the supposedly paved road (10 Miles) was a rough dirt road, wet from the rain showers. Time for plan B. We took off for the Cedar Breaks Campground and found a good site overlooking a meadow. This was the first time we had been to Cedar Breaks and it was a mini Bryce Canyon, at 10,500 feet in elevation!

We were there for the Wildflower Festival! There were so many different flowers, and they were so tall!

Kodachrome Basin State Park, Utah

image

This year we tried a new Utah State Park, Kodachrome Basin, east of Bryce Canyon National Park. It turned out to be a gem! Great, diverse hiking, wonderful facilities, and a setting that was hard to believe.

Here is our site, we were next to Angela, Steve, & Alex. Part of the campground has full hookups, welcome in the hot weather. The facilities were exceptionally clean with very nice showers.

Capital Reef National Park, Utah

We made it! This is one of our favorite National Parks! Water, orchards, beautiful hiking, and a great campground. We met Angela, Steve, and Alex there as we were setting up our camp.

Here we are watching a shower pass over after setting up the site.

The view from our site, not to bad!

Judy at the top of an overlook into the campground valley and orchards. We found some new places to hike this year too. It was hot and dry but it was a dry heat! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Next stop Kodachrome State Park, Utah.

Richfield, Utah

From Las Vegas, we headed for Richfield, Utah on Interstate 70. We’ve found that when finding the ideal spot ๐Ÿ˜‰ in a first come campground like Capital Reef National Park, getting there before noon is important. So, the Richfield KOA is a convenient place to stage before heading to Capital Reef. The KOA is in a residential area too, so we can walk to the downtown for a bite to eat.
